Hengli Motor takes you to understand the cooling method of motors

(1) Natural cooling. A naturally cooled motor does not require a fan, but is cooled through convection and radiation of air.


(2) Self cooling. During self cooling, the cooling air is blown by a fan installed on or dragged by the rotor.


(3) External cooling. The external cooling motor system is cooled by a ventilation fan that is not coaxial with the motor, or by using other externally blown cooling media instead of air.


(4) Open circuit ventilation. The open circuit ventilation system is cooled by continuously changing cooling air flowing through the motor.


(5) Surface cooling. During surface cooling, heat is dissipated from the surface of the enclosed motor to the cooling medium.


(6) Circulating cooling. During circulating cooling, heat is dissipated through the intermediate cooling medium, which continuously circulates between the motor and the radiator.


(7) Liquid cooling. During liquid cooling, a part of the motor is filled with water or other liquid, or immersed in the liquid.


(8) Direct gas cooling. In direct gas cooling, one or all windings are cooled by gas (such as hydrogen) flowing inside the conductor or coil.


(9) Direct liquid cooling. In direct liquid cooling, one or all windings are cooled by a liquid (such as water) flowing inside the conductor or coil.


(10) Combination cooling. Cooling composed of (1) to (9) combined with each other. Different combinations of cooling can be selected according to different performance requirements.
